This is a great article. It definitely looks at the “larger” picture about food production and areas of the world like, sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Indonesia that experience malnutrition and/or straight out starvation daily. I believe that companies like Archer Daniels Midland and Mosanto need to freely give their “designer” seeds to areas where it can make a difference in alleviating hunger. Those same companies in turn need to allow US farmers to also “save” seed from season to season to help develop stronger crop biodiversity that can help produce higher yields and healthier future seed.
