In Nigeria, Oil Spills Are a Longtime Scourge

I admit that I have been unusually quiet about the BP disaster in the Gulf. This article in the New York Times peaked my interest. Nigeria, as well as most of the African continent is extremely rich in natural resources, however we due to the greed of money and wealth have continuously robbed the continent. What is an outrage is the fact that the wealth is not shared and does not move down thru the classes of people. There is no reason famine, disease, and poverty should exist there. Since we are rampaging and plundering their resources for our benefit our moral responsibility is to provide as much assistance as they need to end those conditions.
