I would like all of my beautiful African-American sisters and brothers to read this speech by Sojourner Truth. My sisters, throughout history you have endured and prospered despite heartbreak and untold misery. Remember the strength you were born with. It is a part of your DNA! Take comfort in the strength and power that resides in you. Never break for the darkness in situations or in peoples hearts. My brothers, we also must remember the strength our sisters were born with. It is always our responsibility, our charge to respect, honor, cherish, love, and protect them with every fiber of being we have. Our women make us the GREAT! They are as vital to us as the air we breathe. Never become the source of the darkness and misery in our women’s lives. Be the source of light, strength, love, and support. Make sure brothers they know that by deed; not just word each and every day. Likewise my sisters, appreciate and acknowledge the brother who do treat you like the Queens of Earth you are.
