Interesting article. There is an identity issue involved in the approval ratings. Meaning, we see someone like us as a leader in policy making. I do not agree it is the only reason. I believe the African-American community is a little more pragmatic and less dogmatic about voting selections. As long as we are engaged in policy making we understand that the better our community fares, the better America as a whole fares.
