Abbey Lincoln- First Song

I discovered Abbey Lincoln when I watched this TV show back in 1980’s. It was David Sanborn’s first foray into TV, Night Music. I was  mesmerized by her voice and from that time forward I listened to her music. This is a clip of her performance on Night Music. David Sanborn, Hiram Bullock,Omar Hakim, Don Alias, and Philippe Saisse backs her up. RIP Abbey Lincoln!

    RIP – Abbey Lincoln, 80, was a jazz singer named Gaby Lee who took a new name – a cross between Westminster Abbey & Abraham Lincoln to get a new start. She was a Hollywood princess until she embraced civil rights & found her heart. http://urdead2me.wordpress.com/2010/08/14/rip-abbey-lincoln/
