A fascinating article that offers a glimpse of a side of Rosa Parks that is not explained in history books, nor is readily known. At the Dark End of the Street: Black Women, Rape, and Resistance — a New History of the Civil Rights Movement From Rosa Parks to the Rise of Black Power by Danielle McGuire has just made my reading list and it should yours.
