Google won’t release minority hiring statistics, claiming trade secret

Does Google have something to hide? Publicly traded corporations has a responsibility to be transparent. Hiring procedures & processes can be considered a trade secret, in an extreme sense. I will give them that point, however ludicrous it may be. An interview or multiple interviews, personality test, background check, drug test…those are standard processes. However, providing a simple total count of employees; broken down by ethnic and gender breakdown is not.
