The Myth of Black Confederates Persists

This is a fascinatingly interesting article by Lynette Holloway. Based on the state of Black America today, I can certainly understand if there were slaves who served in the Confederate Army of their own will. The psychological trauma and physical torture of slavery could make some slaves fearful of change. Fearful of the freedom they craved for so long that it became an ethereal dream to them. White slave owners would not document it because we were property in their eyes and according to their laws. Two hundred years hence we may not want to face this possible reality in our history.
