It’s hard enough to make a film. To guide a vision and bring words to life on film is not an easy task. It is hard for any filmmaker, especially for a filmmaker of color. Miracle of St. Anna was a great film, one of Spike Lee’s best. For the film not to be promoted properly is a crime. The fine fits the punishment and may give other companies pause before not honoring their commitments, especially to African-American filmmakers.
