Attempted sexual assault victims 911 call disconnected; dispatcher locates crime scene by “pinging” cell phone

Slideshow-call-911-on-cell-phoneWhen the line went dead after the victim of an attempted sexual assault called 911 Saturday night, Thurston County sheriffs deputies located her only after an emergency dispatcher “pinged” the cell phone she used to make the call by using its global positioning system, court papers state. When sheriffs deputies located the woman at the residence in the 1400 block of Warner Street NE in Thurston County, she “had several fresh, bloody lacerations all over her face,” court papers state. “She said over and over, thank you, thank you, thank you for coming.”
