By Ethan Sacks
She’s making the commute from Westeros to Panem.
“Game of Thrones” actress Natalie Dormer has been cast in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 & 2,” Lionsgate announced Thursday.
The British beauty, best known as Lady Margaery on the HBO fantasy series, will play Cressida, a film director who joins the rebellion against the Capitol to document Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrece) for propaganda purposes in the movie adaptation of the final book in Suzanne Collins’ dystopian trilogy.
Dormer, 31, has been on a meteoric rise since her breakthrough turn as Anne Boyelin on Showtime’s The Tudors. After smaller parts in the Madonna directed “W.E.” and “Captain America: The First Avenger” in 2011, “Game of Thrones” helped propel her to a whole other level of recognition on this side of the Pond. She’ll next be seen in director Ron Howard’s “Rush,” out next month.

Ben Affleck Is Batman for ‘Man of Steel’ Sequel
Ben Affleck will join Henry Cavill in Warner Bros.’ Man of Steel sequel, the studio announced on Thursday.
The project was announced at Comic-Con earlier this year, prompting much speculation surrounding who would play the Caped Crusader. Zack Snyder is back in the director’s chair for the project, which places Batman and Superman together on the big screen for the first time.
The film is slated to open worldwide on July 17, 2015.
The announcement comes a decade after Affleck’s largely disappointing Daredevil, the 20th Century Fox pic based on the Marvel character. Released in 2003, the film grossed $180 million worldwide on a budget of about $80 million.
In 2006, Affleck played George Reeves — who starred in the 1950s TV series Adventures of Superman — in Hollywoodland.
Man of Steel has earned more than $650 million worldwide to date.
“We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular superheroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some. His outstanding career is a testament to his talent, and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character,” said Greg Silverman, Warner Bros.’ president of creative development and worldwide production.

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Will Be Shot By ‘Star Trek’ Cinematographer Dan Mindel
This is probably not the “Star Wars” news fans are looking for, but J.J. Abrams has hired Dan Mindel to be the cinematographer on “Episode VII.” Mindel has previously worked with Abrams on the two “Star Trek” films and “Mission: Impossible III.” He’s also shot films for Tony Scott, Andrew Stanton and Oliver Stone.
Mindel’s hire, which was first reported by Boba Fett Fan Club after being announced during an American Society of Cinematographers event, comes with a twist: Abrams plans to shoot “Star Wars: Episode VII” on 35mm film, a change from “Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones” and “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith,” both of which were shot on digital formats.
