This is an interesting and compelling argument made by Shamara Riley from the Grio. I would agree with it, if it wasn’t for the fact that persons of color would un-proportionally bear the brunt of unfair conviction and  sentencing practices. I am not saying that we should throw the idea out of the window, what I am saying is that there are matters in the criminal justice establishment that needs to be addressed and an equilibrium established before this option can be considered.
