I have roaches….get me a can of RAID!!

Do you have people in your immediate orbit who are bad luck to you? They bring out the worse in you? They do not inspire you to be greater, motivate you to achieve, or be that eye in the middle of the hurricane. They do not calm but agitate you. I call those sort of people roaches, because they come out just like roaches when they smell sugar-water.

Recently, a special friend whom I care for deeply moved. This person has an ability to “calm the beast” in me, nourish my spirit, motivate and encourage me to aspire to the greatness of being that over time I had lost. In short, she brought my “swagger” back. In the week or so leading up to her departure it seemed like every roach who I had thought I had rid myself of started to come out.

These “roaches” have no intrinsic value to my life. In fact they are more like locusts than roaches. Just like a swarm of locusts consume fields of wheat, corn, and sorghum in a short time and leave destruction so do these people. They leave nothing of value in my life.

When they started to crawl out of the woodwork calling with, “I haven’t heard from you in a while…” I took out my can of Raid and started spraying! I was short and told those persons  that I no longer wish to have contact with you. I no longer wish to see you. And more importantly, I am NOT Bank of America if you need money get off your ass and find a job. The spray definitely worked; their voices quivered and they became uncomfortable. They then ended the one-way conversation and hung up.

If you have people in your life that tend to suck the life out of you; always crawling around  being an impediment and disturbance to you just get your can of Raid and start spraying!!!
