I agree with LZ Granderson. The world has changed and our educational system needs to change too. We are teaching our kids based on an outdated model. I remember when I was in grade school actually forgetting some of the information I was taught the preceding school year. Then spent the first half of the semester when I returned to school re-learning the stuff I forgot. Two problems with year round school that would need to be addressed: How do school districts finance the extended year? Will the teacher’s union support the initiative?
