An anarchist group that targets large corporation for acts of terrorism is infiltrated by an agent from a private intelligence group. The East is out in theaters on May 31, 2013. It stars Brit Marling (who also co-wrote the screenplay with Zal Batmanglij), Alexander Skarsgård, Jason Ritter, and Ellen Page. Looks to be a very interesting film.

Microsoft will host an event at its Redmond, Wash., campus on May 21, where it is expected it will reveal the long-awaited successor to the Xbox 360.
Media invites sent to outlets including USA TODAY confirm a “special unveiling” next month with the title “A New Generation Revealed.”
The announcement of a new video game console should come as little surprise, as Microsoft’s rivals press forward with next-generation hardware.
Nintendo launched the Wii U last November, but it has struggled to entice video game players eager for a new device. During its fiscal 2013 earnings announcement, the company revealed it has sold 3.45 million worldwide, short of internal expectations. Nintendo cited a delay in software development as a reason for the slump.
Meanwhile, Sony announced the PlayStation 4 in February, and is expected to launch the device this holiday. The console features a new DualShock 4 controller with a motion sensor, touchpad and Share button for easily distributing content such as videos to friends.
Although the Nintendo Wii remains the frontrunner in this generation’s console battle, the Xbox 360 has quickly gained ground. It has been the top-selling home console in the U.S. for 27 straight months, according to data from research firm NPD Group.
The momentum is largely tied to the Xbox 360’s transformation into a home entertainment device. Several apps are available, including Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Instant Video, as well as the ability to stream cable channels from compatible cable companies.
The next Xbox is rumored to boast similar features. According to a report earlier this month from The Verge, the device can connect to a cable box through HDMI and serve as a TV interface.
The arrival of fresh hardware should be greeted warmly by the video game industry, which has suffered through a long slump at retail. Sales in 2012 were down 22%, says NPD, due in part to aging home devices. The Xbox 360 launched in 2005, while rivals PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii released in 2006.
The Federal Reserve announced Wednesday that it will begin circulating a redesigned $100 bill this fall, more than two years after its initial target.
The Fed has set a target date of Oct. 8. The redesigned note incorporates added security features, such as a blue, 3-D security ribbon and a disappearing Liberty Bell in an inkwell. The features are designed to thwart counterfeiters.
The revamped bill had been expected to go into circulation in February 2011. But in December 2010, officials announced an indefinite delay. They said they needed more time to fix production issues that left unwanted creases in many of the notes.
“We made numerous process changes to address the creasing issue and we are back in full production,” said Dawn Haley, a spokeswoman for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
Haley said those changes include modifying the paper feeder on printing presses to accommodate variations in the paper associated with the 3-D security ribbon. The blue security ribbon is composed of thousands of tiny lenses. Those lenses magnify the objects underneath them to make them appear to be moving in the opposite direction from the way the bill is being moved.
Benjamin Franklin’s portrait will remain on the $100 bill, the highest value denomination in general circulation and the most frequent target of counterfeiters.
The $100 bill is the last note to undergo an extensive redesign aimed at thwarting counterfeiters who have access to ever-more sophisticated copying machines.
The redesigns began in 2003 when the government added splashes of color to the $20 bill. That makeover was followed by redesigns for the $50, $10 and $5 bills. The $1 bill isn’t getting a makeover.
An extensive public education effort is planned for businesses and consumers around the world to raise awareness of the new design and provide information on how to use the new security features.More information about the redesigned $100 bill can be found at newmoney.gov.
