‘Finding Dory’ Announced As ‘Finding Nemo’ Sequel With Ellen DeGeneres To Star

Dory-FINDING-NEMODory is swimming her way back to the box office.

Disney and Pixar announced Tuesday that “Finding Nemo” is getting a sequel with the upcoming release of “Finding Dory.”

“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,” said Ellen DeGeneres, who voices Dory, in a statement. “I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.”

English: Ellen DeGeneres in 2009.

“Finding Dory” is reportedly set on the California coastline, one year after “Finding Nemo.” The animated flick will include many of the characters from the first film, such as Marlin, the Tank Gang, and of course, Nemo.

The sequel was first reported by Deadline.com in July of 2012. Andrew Stanton will direct “Finding Dory,” with Albert Brooks, who voiced Marlin in the first film, returning as well.

“Finding Nemo” was a major success for Disney and Pixar. Released in 2003, “Finding Nemo” reached a total worldwide gross of $921.7 million, and took home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

The First Honest Cable Company

television-or-tvI grew up with free over the air television. Between the UHF and VHF bands New York City had a plethora of content available. While it may not have been 24 hour broadcasting and would have proven to be of no use to insomniacs it was entertaining nonetheless. Not everyone was as fortunate as I was and in other parts of the country the availability of content was much smaller-limited to only the three major network affiliates (before Fox there were only three), one public television station (if you were lucky), and maybe one or two locally independent stations. That situation, along with the American need to monetize and profitize everything, technological advances, and deregulation has led to the current cable landscape. Watching the video below while funny, is sadly very true.

The Holy Trinity Of Startup Success: Purpose, Culture, Reward

By Trevor Blake

stock-photo-12238354-startup-businessLast time I looked, there were 19,200 book titles available for purchase at Amazon under the category “Organizational Behavior.” I checked out a few of the top sellers and found a familiar pattern. Not one is written by an author who actually founded, built, and managed his or her own enterprise. The authors are academics or management consultants. Their information may be useful, but I wish more books were written by people who have gone through the experience of building a positive work environment while also juggling trying to satisfy shareholder and customer expectations.I dont consider myself an expert on organizational behavior, but I have built several successful companies from scratch, two of which sold for over $100 million each. Whenever I get together with the various investors, contractors, and personnel to reminisce about those achievements, I am struck by how nostalgic they become. To a person, they describe their involvement in the companies as being the best experiences of their lives. Some investors even went public with those endorsements. As humans our tendency is usually to over-complicate things. I have known some management consultants who would turn the making of a ham sandwich into a PhD thesis and we would all starve to death in the pursuit of perfection. In business, perfection is not the main aim.

Will Ware be stuck with the bill?

By David Sirota

kevin-ware-300Louisville sophomore Kevin Ware’s injury today in the Midwest Regional finals of the NCAA tournament will likely be remembered alongside Joe Theismann’s career-ender as one of the most tragically gruesome in sports history. But that’s not the only tragic and gruesome part of this episode, because unlike Theismann, who was working under a guaranteed contract, Ware was an NCAA athlete helping to generate millions of dollars for the NCAA, but not automatically guaranteed a four-year education scholarship. As in so many other similar cases, that means his injury in service to the NCAA’s multimillion-dollar machine could spell the end of his financial aid and massive healthcare bills to boot.Yes, that’s right — NCAA basketball is a $780 million-a year business that makes 1 percenters out of NCAA executives, coaches, athletic directors and college administrators. Yet that same business offers relative scraps to the players who actually generate that money. It is certainly true that Division I NCAA basketball players get athletic scholarships. However, those scholarships often do not cover the entire cost of attending college. Additionally, many are not guaranteed four-year scholarships — on the contrary, many schools refuse to offer guaranteed multi-year scholarships, and the NCAA’s big “reform” of the last few years wasn’t to mandate such a guarantee, but to merely allow it if particular schools want it.
