Cyber racism in high school

I was not aware of this event in Louisiana. Very interesting and thought-provoking article from Jeesie Daniels and Race Talk.

Facebook CEO Zuckerberg to Donate $100 Million to Newark Schools – WSJ.com

This is a great gift to the children of Newark. This can go a very long way to improve the quality of education in Newark. I am sure Mayor Booker and his staff will develop a comprehensive plan to address that issue using the funds Mr. Zuckerberg is gifting. I have faith that the plan will increase educational efficacy just as Mayor Booker’s plan on crime led to reductions of violent offenses.

Will the Fair Sentencing Act Really Make a Dent in Black Incarceration?

My short answer is, no it will not. Black crime and incarceration is the result of deeper problems in our community and in American society. I support the law due to the fact that persons of color is receive harsher and longer penalties where others do not. We all know why too. Great article from Lynette Holloway from The Root.

Winning the Right to Vote for Convicted Felons

This is an interesting legal argument. I have never understood why a persons who have served their debt to society are barred from voting. In addition, why the census counts prisoners where they are jailed and not where they lived before they were jailed. Farrakhan vs. Gregoire is a case I will be following.

Into the mind of your toddler

Seems logical to me….I don’t think it’s that simple, though.

Keyshia Cole-Heaven Sent

A beautiful song. You can hear the soul in Keyshia’s voice. I can’t wait for her new material to hit.
