We are lucky to live in a country where we do have individual freedoms. Yet many of us are not free in our minds. That has to change and meditation is one way to attain that freedom. Meditation allows our minds to focus and calm it self. It allows us to develop clarity of thought. Meditation will even lower your blood pressure. Above all it bring us closer to God and closer to the essence of our real self.
This article is dated; six years old. But, if you wanted to know where American jobs are going I am sure this list hasn’t changed all that much. This is where American countries are sending jobs that can be done here, in America. Jobs that can help reduce the unemployment rate and offer a livelihood for our citizens. Let’s discuss this. Not illegal immigration and the “jobs” some are claiming the immigrants are taking away, I do not see any agricultural or manual labor jobs in the lot. Let’s also not forget that some of the countries on the list, the United States does not have the best of relationships with.
Ms. Jarron’s plight is not unusual, it is becoming commonplace. This is an extremely sad state of affairs. We need to pressure our elected officials to help everyone who is unemployed. We cannot be “snookered” into believing that illegal immigration affects this situation, either. It is the corporate mission to continue to delivering profits to shareholders, no matter what that has created this situation. Our jobs are not being taken by illegal immigrants, they are being taken by persons who are located in India, Malaysia, and Singapore.

This is not a surprise at all. The initiatives discussed is a good first step but, Where is the parental responsibility? Parents have a role in the behavior of their children because, children tend to act in the ways that is provided as an example. They behave as their role models do. A parent need to, in some respects change their own behavior and language in front of their kids, especially the younger ones. In addition, what ever happened to telling a child to go to their room and play when there were adults were in the home? My parents did that with me so I was not a witness to their behavior and language while they played dominoes or cards.
I learned how to swim while in kindergarten and have swum ever since. My father still does not know how to swim and if it was not for my mother would have drowned to death when they were in a car accident and he was thrown into a ditch. EVERYONE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO SWIM!!! Especially, African-Americans we can still look good & buffed and still keep the hair intact while swimming. This tragedy and many others this summer could have been avoided. Call your local aquatic center or YMCA for lessons. It is not expensive.
Monique Morris provides a compelling argument. An excellent piece on why any revisions of the 14th Amendment would be ill-conceived and wrong.
Why weakening the 14th amendment would reopen racial wounds.
This is a classic jam! I’m feeling a little nostalgic. Enjoy this…
