How many of us have passion? Something that is uniquely yours not your spouse or children’s. Something that you alone take pleasure in and enjoy doing?
We move thru this mundane life waking up, going to work, paying bills, trying to be a good husband/wife and/or father/mother. Do we have a passion for any of it?
I was told recently by someone, that they didn’t have time to do anything for themselves. They work two jobs and work overtime on both. That is sad, because both of the two jobs they have a passion for and they never have the “time” to take for themselves. The jobs just keep up the mediocrity of existence and do not hold an “added-value”.
We all need to have a passion. Something we love to do. Something that is uniquely ours alone. We may share our passion with others, but the love we enjoy in doing whatever it is it’s ours alone.
When you have a passion, we have a boundless enthusiasm and love for it. When we have a passion we do not consider it as a chore or work. Instead, we find it relaxing, peaceful, enjoyable, and above all self-fulfilling.
If we are extremely lucky we can earn an income from our passion. At that point, our passion becomes our career. The enthusiasm we bring to our passion propels us to become the best in whatever it is. It makes us uber-productive. Our passion, the actions of doing them brings a psychological and physiological calming effect to us. Therefore, it lowers our stress and blood pressure levels. This makes us healthier people overall.
Discover your passion. Take the time today even if it’s just five minutes to do something for yourself that you enjoy, have enthusiasm and a love doing. It can be as simple as reading a book alone in a room for five minutes. Take the time to develop it, nurture it, and by extension become a much healthier person, a more self-satisfied person and a better husband/wife or girlfriend/boyfriend and better father/mother.
