Excellent article that was informative, inspiring and troubling all at once. Informative and inspiring because if you do a business study on the organizations featured it provides a template for success. It is troubling because in the business world of globalization at some point you must acquire complementary businesses and/or competitors & suppliers or be acquired yourself. The problem I see is that as an entrepreneur you must think on a global scale (i.e.: TLC Beatrice back in the ’90’s ), have a viable succession plan (unlike TLC Beatrice when Reginald Lewis passed away), innovate and strike fast and hard to create lasting profits and a “Black,Green, & Generational” institution.
