I grew up with another sweetener that is unhealthy; saccharin in the home. My mother was diabetic and used Sweet n Low. I never liked the artificial taste of it. When I was in high school, aspartame was introduced. That tasted even worse. In short, I never liked either of the most popular artificial sweeteners. By extension, I never developed an affinity for diet sodas. As an adult I discovered stevia. It’s natural, zero calories, helps to balance blood sugars, helps digestion and tastes just like sugar. That’s what I recommend.
