Kiefer Sutherland may have lost his “Touch,” but several intriguing reports suggest he might now be headed for a resurrected “24.”
Sutherland played beleaguered federal agent Jack Bauer for eight seasons on Fox’s “24,” an action drama that won Emmys for both the show and Sutherland’s lead performance.
“24” ended in 2010 and in 2012 Sutherland took the lead in another Fox show, “Touch,” playing a father attempting to communicate with a young mute son who has almost supernatural powers of perception.
The show, which had both mystical and police procedural elements, never really caught on, and most TV viewers assumed it was only because of Sutherland’s name that Fox brought it back this year for a second season.
The network placed it in a low-viewership Friday slot, however, and it averaged less than 4 million viewers an episode.
