Theres a new Captain America coming to town.
Sam Wilson, Captain Americas longtime partner The Falcon, will be replacing Steve Rogers this fall in the comic book series, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada revealed on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” Wednesday night.
“Well if there is one bird associated with America, it is the falcon,” Colbert remarked.
Wilson will officially take on the cowl and shield in “All-New Captain America #1” by Rick Remender and Stuart Immonen.
Colbert addressed the fact that Wilson is black, to which Quesada said, “I dont see colors.” This prompted Colbert to ask, “If you dont see colors, how do you do comic books?”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wilson is the second former sidekick to take on the Captain America identity in the past decade, and will be the seventh character to use the name in Marvel continuity.

It’s something because even though I’m fine with this change (and I certainly like Miles Morales, half latin/half black Spiderman), I also loath this change.
I’ll tell you why.
I like characters to have their own origins. This way, we grow with them.
And I don’t understand why Marvel can’t just create new superheroes or work more on the ones they have?
Like Photon. Call me crazy, but I always liked Photon. I would love love love if Taraji P Henson played Photon in the avengers.
I like to discover a character rather than a character replaced.
Cause isn’t Sam Wilson getting old? LOL… He’ll become Captain America and then get back pains lol.
I mean, I have an entire box of comic book characters I made up in my youth… Maybe Marvel could use some!
Well… I guess it’s all about maximizing money. This way venders don’t have to make new super hero costumes for kids, just keep marketing the old ones.
Oh well. I’ll welcome the new Captain and the new Thor.
