There are many persons in the U.K. and the U.S. not just from WWII but from every conflict and some in “peace time” that performed heroic acts for their country who cannot and will not discuss their actions. There are those who are serving in unknown areas of the world right now who are performing actions to keep us all safe cloaked in secrecy and confidentiality. All of these persons are unsung and unheralded heroes of democracy.
U.K. recluse found to be war heroine after death – World news – Europe – msnbc.com.
This issues ties directly to the poverty rate in the United States. How can you go to see a doctor when you are focused on keeping a roof over your head or food in your stomach? We will only get sicker and our mortality decrease along with our quality of life. A certain party and group of people fought health care reform tooth and nail. We got reform and it will help but it is a distant cousin of what we hoped for and what was originally proposed and presented. Until health care is addressed this country will not recover from this economic graveyard as quickly as we all hoped. Remember those persons who prevented health care reform from taking place with th vision we all had. Remember the obstructionists and the party of “NO” that has as of yet not presented a practical plan to help the poorest of the poor in this nation. Remember the persons who support policies that keep the rich richer and the healthy healthier. Remember those things when you VOTE!
Number of uninsured Americans hits record high – Health – Health care – msnbc.com.
One in seven of all Americans and specifically one in four african americans live in poverty. This is horrendously shameful for this country. I wonder if the banks, oil companies, and other American businesses that have posted extraordinary profits or took our money to stay afloat can give 10% to help ease this problem? Not a chance! As we approach the elections remember which candidates are speaking about and supporting policies that will keep the rich richer. Remember the candidates who denigrate persons who are poor, unemployed, and disenfranchised. Remember that this situation did not begin overnight or in the past one or two years and will need at least or maybe more time for this nation to recover from it. Remember to show compassion for each other and lend a helping hand in your community.
I’ve dug this ever since the movie Twilight. Paramore reminds me of the band Evanescence with just a little harder edge. Now, I’m gonna watch New Moon and relax for a few hours!
