Excellent commentary by Alan Bean and the folks at Friends of Justice. I have read Michelle Alexander’s “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness” and recommend everyone to read this book. It brings specific issues about justice and incarceration into a specific light. The article as well as the book is thought provoking.

Taken with the previous article, I realize that as technology brings us closer together, the more we and “Big Brother” knows about us. Scary!!

A few days ago I posted the release day. Today, I post the trailer for this much-anticipated movie adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s book. If you did not read the book, hit up Amazon, Borders, or Barnes & Nobles and read it! It is a FANTASTIC book, a modern classic.
This is simply a prayer; the Hail Mary. I learned it in school, in Latin no less. I let my mother hear it and she fell in love with it. The beauty and sanctity of it. Today is my mother’s birthday. Elizabeth Ann Bennett Recall would have been 69 years young. My family and I lost her way too early, in 1995. I dedicate this post to her. She was an angel and now lives with them, I love you Mommy!!
